While We Wait For Death
Researching with all our Senses
So much of our life passes in a comfortable blur. Living on the senses requires an easily triggered sense of marvel, a little extra energy, and most people are still lazy about life. Life is something that happens to them while they wait for death.
- Diane Ackerman
This is our final call to join us before we meet for our first call tomorrow for the Living Research Program.
Why Are We Doing This?
Those of you who’ve been with us for sometime know that our research and documentary film focus has been with women’s history, and indigenous and earth-based cultural knowledge. That we hold gatherings, and pop-ups events, and have had a podcast and our Soul Seed House library.
Living Research has always been something we’ve referenced, such as the welcome note to the Soul Seed House library:
We believe
— research should not remain dead to the page
— something is lost when artefacts and sacred relics are kept in glass boxes or filing cabinets
— we are misguided when indigenous peoples, and earth-based knowledge ways, are spoken of, and presented as past tense or, placed on a pedestal
— we are all part-of this evolving creation (of life), and vital, in the current world dialogue.
Each of us is a researcher in our own right. We invite you to weave with us here.
The program is the first time we‘re sharing a deeper exploration of what this means, and how it can come alive in each of our lives — because this is how we want to move forwards. With an aim to build a community and network of Living Researchers traveling, engaging with the world, contributing to our library and gathering together to grow wise.
Collective Intentions:
To build a Living Research Community where we can show up to learn, engage and contribute to a better form of knowledge sharing, development of wisdom and collective record keeping of our culture and history.
Collective Aims
We want to build a community of Living Researchers. To engage with knowledge, and journey to the communities we work with — gathering with presence, honoring our responsibility for who we are, and what we bring, and receiving the depth and beauty of a place, people and sacred knowledge. The aim is to always release all expectations but show up with aligned intentions together.
Personal Intentions
To support each of us engaging with life fully, to experience the full spectrum of what is possible, and not miss the magic inherent in every moment.
Personal Aims
To each open to our individual gifts to show up for the world at this time. To bring our aliveness and connection to spirit in exchange with the world around us.
You will get as much from this course and journey as you fully participate and immerse yourself in to the experience and make it your own. We welcome you to join us…
Without, expectations or any fear of what you can contribute but a simple willingness to engage with learning, life and, all our senses while we each await death. Remembering that to embrace death is to also embrace life fully.
